Football Management
Thank you for purchasing Football Management from the Apple App Store. On this page you will find some simple instructions to help you get the very best out of Football Management.
Basics
What you put into the Football Management app, it will give you that back and more. The more information you provide at the beginning of the season the more detail the app will be able to keep a track of. You may opt not to populate a team with players but then how will you keep a track of the race to be top goal scorer? It is up to you of course but the more you put in the more you get back.
Season Setup
The first thing you need to do is to create a new season when your league begins. All the functions you need to do this are in the Season Setup menu accessible from the main menu.
Create Season
The first time you use Football Management this table will be empty. Press the plus button in the top-right corner to bring up the entry screen. In the entry screen simply type the name you wish to call the new season and press save. This new season will appear in the table with a green icon to signify it is the active season. Any past seasons that have been finalised will also appear in this list but will have a red icon to signify they are archived.
The plus button in the top-right will only be enabled when there is no currently active season.
Add Team
Once you have created a season you will need to populate it with competeing teams. The first time you enter this view it will be empty, so press the plus button in the top-right to add a team. The add screen enables you to type the name of the team and the 'Select Image' button will allow you to specify an image you want associated with the team. Press this button to bring up the PhotoLibrary, the place where images are stored on your device. Select the image you wish and press the 'save' button. Press the save button on the add screen and will have successfully added a team, which will now appear on the list of teams.
Add Players
After you have created a team you can then populate the squad list of a team. When you select a team from the list available you will be presented with a blank screen if there are no players already added. Press the plus button in the top-right corner to bring up the add screen. Here you may enter the name of the player, the position they play and assign a portrait image. Assigning an image is optional. Press the 'save' button in the top-right corner to save the new player and they will be added to the squad list for this team.
Edit Season
This function will allow you to edit the name of the season that you select. So if you make a typographical mistake in your original input you need not worry as you can fix it here. Press the 'Edit' button in the top-right corner and then select the field that you wish to edit. Once you do this you will be brought to the edit screen where you can amend the season's title. When you are done, simply press save in the top-right corner and the season will be successfully updated.
In the edit section you also have the opportunity to delete an entry. On the table view with the list of seasons you can swipe your finger across the table cell with the season you wish to remove and the 'Delete' button will appear. Press this button to remove the selected row. Be careful though, once you remove this row there is no way to retrieve it. Also once you remove a season there is no way to view any information related to the deleted season.
Edit Teams
This function will allow you to edit the name of the team that you select or change the image associated with the team. So if you make a typographical mistake in your original input you need not worry as you can fix it here. Press the 'Edit' button in the top-right corner and then select the field that you wish to edit. If you choose to edit the name you will be taken to the edit screen where you will make your change. Once satisfied press the 'save' button in the top-right to commit your changes. If you choose to update the image the photo library on your device will be displayed. Simply choose the new picture you want associated with the team.

Password Settings
The password and username requested here are the ones that you use to login into your Twitter account.
Close Season
The function to close or finalise your currently active season is an important part of the Football Management app. When you have completed your current season and all results and scorers have been input you should close the season. When you close the season you change it's status from active to inactive. This means that you can now create another active season, as you cannot have two active seasons running concurrently. Once you close a season you will be able to view the important information that was created there in the Archives section of Football Management. Remember once you close a season it can no longer be updated with any inputs or amendments and a closed season cannot be re-opened.
Input Result
Inputting a result is fast and easy with the intuitive input interface in Football Management. Simply break the process down in a few small steps:
- Use the picker to select the 'home team' and their score.
- The 'Home' button will become enabled. Press this button.
- Use the picker to select the 'away team' and their score.
- The 'Away' button will become enabled. Press this button.
- Now the 'Add' button will be enable as you have both the home and away details. Confirm this entry when asked.
- If you are finished adding results press the 'Done' button, otherwise continue to add more results in the same way as before.
Input Scorer
Inputting a scorer is fast and easy with the intuitive input interface in Football Management. Simply break the process down in a few small steps:
- Select the team the player plays for.
- Select the player from the picker and the number of goals they have scored.
- The 'Add' button will be enabled. Press this and confirm your entry when asked.
- If you are finished adding scores press the 'Done' button, otherwise continue to add more scores in the same way as before.
League Table
The League table is self explanatory but it does contain one funtion that may not be obvious. If you select a row on the league table with your finger you will be taken to a screen that will breakdown the last five results for the team selected.
Tweet
The functionality in this view requires you, the user to have a Twitter account. If you don't have an account, head over to twitter.com to set one up. If you do have an account then updating your status on Twitter is so easy with Football Management. Simply type your message into the textbox on the screen and press the 'Done' button to dismiss the keyboard. When you are ready press the 'Update' button to update your Twitter status.
This function requires you to be connected to the Internet.
